Jean Smart, the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning star of Max’s Hacks, is calling for television networks to refrain from airing any upcoming awards shows. Instead, Smart thinks they should donate to victims of the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires and the firefighters doing the work to try to extinguish them. I certainly understand it doesn’t feel like a time to celebrate career achievements – but how about using the telecasts to raise money for fire victims – AND have the networks also donate their revenue?
